Breaking Limits, Enabling On-site Detailed Analysis

The IMO International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments mandates that the ballast water system must undergo a commissioning test including biological effectiveness analysis during the initial installation inspection or when important components are replaced. The convention permits the use of indicative analysis as the testing method.

If the Indicative Analysis is failed, ship side need to find a lab which have the capacity to conduct detailed analysis on her voyage and arrange sampling & analysis again within 3 months, but there are only a dozen laboratories can arrange detailed analysis in the world and they are unevenly distributed, which will result in secondary sampling costs, management costs and operation costs, etc.

Our Solution:

In order to solve this problem, GMScare invented Mobile Labs which equipped with the full sets of testing facilities of ballast water Detailed Analysis, so they can carry out not only indicative analysis but also detailed analysis at the same port, once the indicative analysis failed, the detailed analysis could be conducted onsite at once. Currently, 5 mobile labs are in operation in the major ports of China. And this technology has achieved patented technology and approved by ISO/IEC 17025.
